Well, as I am in the midst of making my first batch, I would say not hard as much as that it takes patience and a lot of time. In fact, I am blogging while I am waiting on the candy....will let you know how it turns out.
So my first attempt BOMBED! Yikes. I took the advice from some doof on allrecipes.com, and it turned out like this...
(It was as hard as a rock and tasted like old ribbon candy....I thought I could save it by adding chocolate. 'Cause everything is better with chocolate, right? It didn't work out.) So for my second and third batches, I followed the recipe EXACTLY, and they turned out perfect!
Lesson learned.

my mom always made divinity too and i LOVED it! what recipe did you use that worked?
Wow, you are good. I've never tried it before. Now I know who to talk to if I ever do.
Love the kids picture slideshow. They are so cute!
So I used a recipe on allrecipes.com called "divinity" it has a ton of positive reviews and worked great. It is the one that calls for you to heat the sugar to 250 degrees.
Anyhoo, it is tons easier after you do it once....I highly recommend it. Nothing but sugar and eggs so it is fat free, which translates to good for you!
